Valparaiso/Vina del Mar This fascinating trip to the coast can be done as a day trip from Santiago or on the way to or from Portillo. Valparaiso is a World Heritage Site with Victorian charm and was home to Nobel poet Pablo Neruda. Vina del Mar is considered Chile's premier beach resort and is known as the Ciudad Jardin (Garden City). Pomaire Pottery Village This small town near Santiago is famous for its pottery.
